CLIENT MANDATE

Our client, Label Innovation Inc. (the “Company” or “Label Innovation”) is an Ottawa based, custom label manufacturer and converter of specialty components, tapes, and labels. Over the past 40 years, Label Innovation has built a reputation for being able to solve specialized manufacturing challenges across various industries, including, industrial, medical, and security. With a focus on high-quality products and customer service, Label Innovation has become an industry leader, serving large multinational companies.

Our M&A mandate was to find a buyer that would ensure the legacy the Company has built would be maintained while also providing opportunities for the Company to enhance its offerings and serve new clients.

WELCH CAPITAL PARTNERS’ APPROACH

The Company came to us when it was already in discussions with one interested buyer. Notwithstanding these discussions, we encouraged the Company to take the opportunity to market. There were a lot of private equity firms in or looking to break into the label and custom converter industry and we felt a competitive M&A process would yield multiple offers.

WELCH CAPITAL PARTNERS’ ADVANTAGE

Given the competitiveness in the market, we were able to present our client with different deal structure options from a handful of interested buyers. Having an opportunity to analysis these options, the Company was able to determine which option was best for all the Company’s stakeholders. Ultimately, the deal that was accepted was 40% better than the offer from the target the Company was speaking with before engaging Welch Capital Partners.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

The Investment Banking Firm, Welch Capital Partners, played a key role in the M&A process, helping Label Innovation find the right buyer and getting the transaction across the finish line. Despite the highs and lows of the M&A Process, WCP persevered drove all parties and service providers to get the deal closed.
